8 Must-Have Travel Accessories

By Caitlin Hornik

Your next big trip is right around the corner! If any of these items are missing from your packing list, we highly encourage you to take a trip to the store (or to Amazon) before your next vacay.

1. Packing Cubes

An essential for any and every traveler, packing cubes help keep your suitcase organized no matter the length of your trip. They come in varying sizes for different clothing items and suitcase styles. We recommend breathable ones for added compression so you can fit that extra romper or pair of leggings!

2. International Adapter

If you’re traveling abroad, you’re likely going to need an adapter. Many universal adapters sold nowadays include USB ports so you can charge more devices at once! Investing in an all-in-one adapter is a great choice because you’ll be prepared for unexpected layovers (and your next trip!).

3. Power Bank

If you don’t have a power bank by now, we’re not sure what you’re waiting for! A portable backup battery can charge your phone, tablet, etc. Many are sleek and not too bulky. Do your homework and find a sturdy one that’ll give your phone a full solid charge-- Not one that dies after 10 minutes of charging your devices.

4. Mobile Hotspot

If you’re traveling abroad to places where WiFi may be spotty or non-existent, investing in a mobile hotspot is a great idea. Many offer the option to buy the device and then charge you per each day of use. Others offer the option to rent a hotspot device for a set period of time-- Perfect for those traveling overseas for the first time who don’t want to commit to purchasing a device. With a suitable option for every kind of traveler, mobile hotspots are a must-have travel accessory.

5. Headphone Jack Splicer

Long haul flights are more fun with friends-- and a headphone jack splicer. Watch movies, listen to music together, and never miss a beat.

6. Hand Sanitizer & Antibacterial Wipes

We lumped this into one tidy category because, let’s face it--if you’re not already traveling with these essentials, it’s wayyy past time. We’re sure you already know this, but TSA bins and airplane trays have more bacteria than toilet flushers. Having hand sanitizer is crucial! And antibacterial wipes come in handy upon arrival at your hotel. Use them to wipe down door handles, remotes, desks, nightstands, and more. Don’t let us catch you traveling without these must-have accessories again!

7. Shoe Bags

This may sound silly, but keeping your clothes clean in your suitcase is important, right? Shoe bags are a great way to ensure that your clothes arrive to your destination in pristine condition-- Not with mud or dirt on them. Ones with a waterproof material and zipper are a must.

8. Digital Accessories Organizer

Phones, tablets, laptops, game consoles...sounds like you have a lot of chargers. Keep tabs on them all with a digital accessories organizer. With room for chargers, batteries, and even some devices, staying organized has never been easier!
