7 Wineries to Visit on Long Island

By Caitlin Hornik

Long Island’s East End is chock full of incredible wineries. Whether you prefer white, red, rose, or champagne, there is a beautiful vineyard that awaits you! Here are a few favorites for you to consider prior to your trip. Use this as a launchpad to find the perfect wineries to complement your itinerary (and look into their wine clubs before you leave)!

Sparkling Pointe

Located in Southold, Sparkling Pointe is known for Méthode Champenoise Sparkling Wines, but also for their tasting menus and special events! They’ve partnered with local bakeries and shops to curate pairing menus that are simply fantastic. Grapes are grown on three sites comprising almost 40 acres on Long Island’s North Fork.

Channing Daughters

One of the only vineyards on the south shore, Channing Daughters is located in Bridgehampton. This vineyard grows over two dozen grape varieties on nearly 30 acres of vines! Their location also consists of a small winery and tasting room.

Raphael

Fact: Raphael is one of a handful of wine estates in the United States that is harvest entirely by hand! The winery was also built 12 feet underground. What you see when you enter is a stunning display of rustic winemaking charm. They have a fireplace as well as a terrace, making them a perfect year-round destination for wine lovers.

Wolffer Estate

Driving up to Wolffer’s Sagaponack location is truly something from a movie: Long driveway, massive staircase, and then when you reach the outdoor terrace? It’s like being transported to another country! Wolffer is famous for their Summer in a Bottle Rose, but don’t be fooled -- Their wines are delicious, too!

Bedell

Since 1980, Bedell has been providing Long Islanders with quality red and white wines. Located in Cutchogue, Bedell offers a beautiful tasting room and terrace, but also has space to host business meetings and weddings!

Pindar

A Long Island staple, Pindar has been around for over 40 years. With over 500 acres housing 17 grape varieties, it’s no wonder this legendary winery is still a hot spot for tourists!

Duck Walk

Another iconic Long Island vineyard is Duck Walk. Visit the flagship winery in Southampton or Duck Walk North in Southold! The North Fork location is the newer of the two and is home to more than 30 acres of Sauvignon Blanc grapes.
