Pizzeria Di Matteo

Via dei Tribunali, 94, 80138 Napoli
Okay, if you go nowhere else in Naples, promise us that you'll at least go to Di Matteo. Sometimes, it's those little no-frills, hole-in-the-walls that do it best, and Di Matteo is a prime example of that. Nestled right in the center of Naples, this local hotspot offers scrumptious pizza for only 2 - 6 Euro.

L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele

Via Cesare Sersale, 1, 80139 Napoli
The name of this popular pizza go-to translates to "the ancient pizzeria," and for good reason. Serving up their signature 'za since 1906, the Condurro family behind L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele claims that their secret is "simplicity and love for tradition." When you arrive at this pizzeria, be prepared for two things. One, a big crowd (but hey, that's a good sign, right?). And two, only pizza options on the menu - margherita or marinara. Why the small menu? The Condurro family has been searching for the perfect taste for over one hundred years, and offering limited options guarantees quality.

Fun fact: if this pizzeria looks familiar, that's because it's featured in the movie "Eat, Pray, Love" featuring Julia Roberts!

Pizzeria Gino Sorbillo

Via dei Tribunali, 32, 80138 Napoli
One thing's for sure: you will never be alone here. While Sorbillo is notorious for its long lines, its mouthwatering pizza is worth the wait. You might think: if it's so famous, is it just a tourist trap? Not in the slicest. As soon as you bite into that crusty masterpiece of sweet sauce, fragrant basil, and fresh mozzerella, you'll realize that the name "Sorbillo" lives up to the hype.

Pizzeria Dè Figliole

Via Giudecca Vecchia, 39, 80139 Napoli
Fried pizza? Yep, you read correctly! Try Pizzeria De Figliole's specialty: "pizza fritta," which is almost like a deep fried calzone. Filled with ingredients ranging from simple sauce and mozzerella cheese, to more intricate ingredients like ricotta, broccoli rabe, and salami, you can never go wrong with anything from De' Figliole.

Hint: try the Nutella pizza fritta for dessert!

Pizzeria La Notizia

Via Michelangelo da Caravaggio, 53, 80126 Napoli
Masterchef Enzo Coccia has made quite a name for himself in Naples - and in the world of pizza-making. It's not everyday that you come across a Michelin-star pizzeria! A known favorite and must-try spot, Notizia puts a gourmet twist on traditional pizza. Be sure to try the colorful Pizza San Gennaro, dressed with bright yellow tomatoes, as well as the Margherita D.O.P. Some say it's the best margherita pizza in Italy. Taste for yourself!

Did you know? Enzo Coccia recently opened another pizzeria just down the street! While the original is "Pizzaria 53," his new restaurant is "Pizzaria 94." The menus are a bit different, so if you have the time (and the appetite), check out both!

Starita

Via Materdei, 27/28, 80136 Napoli
Pizza from Starita is just downright delicious. While the menu is filled with yummy add-ons like speck ham, broccoli, sausage, olives, and mushrooms, you must try Starita's marinara. We promise, you will never think about marinara the same way again. Like Pizzeria Dè Figliole, Starita also offers pizza fritta! This must-try spot is raved about by locals and tourists, alike.
