Day 1. Welcome to Rome!
Touch down in the Eternal City! Get ready for pizza, pasta, and piazzas.
Upon arrival in Rome, you will be transferred to your first accommodation. Settle in and relax, then begin exploring! Treat yourself to a delicious first-night dinner at a nearby trattoria, then go see the Trevi Fountain illuminated at night.Â

Be sure to save time for St Peter's Basilica in Vatican City!

Day 3. Rome - Bologna (Begin escorted tour)
Say "ciao" to Rome and get ready to explore northern Italy and Switzerland! This morning, you'll head north towards Umbria as you embark on your guided tour. During the drive, your guide will make stops along the way. Pause for photo-ops in pretty hill-towns, then stop for lunch in the charming medieval Citta di Castello. Next, you'll venture to Bagno di Romagna, a tiny town in the Apennines near Casentinesi Forest National Park. Stroll through this charming hamlet and take in the surrounding scenery!
After one more drive through the beautiful countryside, you'll arrive in Bologna - your home for the night! Check in to your hotel, then spend the night exploring the medieval streets of this old-world city.Â

In the late afternoon, you'll hop back aboard your vehicle and head to Lugano, Switzerland! Settle in and get ready for a wonderful two nights.Â

Day 5. Lugano
Wake up to fresh mountain air and spectacular scenery. This morning, you'll leave Lugano and continue exploring the stunning lakes on the Italian-Swiss border. Enjoy a stop in Locarno, a resort city on Lake Maggiore! Next, you'll travel along Lake Maggiore to Stresa. Get lost in the beauty of this old-world town, as you discover unique villas, charming promenades, and cobblestone streets.Â
In the late afternoon, you'll arrive in Varese for some free time to enjoy its pretty old town and impressive art nouveau villas.Â
Come evening time, you'll return to Lugano for a good night's rest!Â
Day 6. Lugano - Lauterbrunnen - Lausanne
Enjoy breakfast, then prepare for a day of soaring Alps, green meadows, glistening lakes, and adorable villages! After departing Lugano, your first quick stop will be in Altdorf. Then, you'll travel along some of the most scenic roads in the country! Just when you think that the landscape can't be any more breathtaking, you'll arrive in the little village of Lauterbrunnen - the epitome of alpine paradise!
Boasting amazing views of the Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau, some of the most impressive mountains in the area, Lauterbrunnen is adorned with over 70 waterfalls. In town, you'll find chalet-style houses and a postcard-worthy main street. Don't worry, you'll have almost the entire afternoon to explore this quintessential village on your own!
After a lovely day in Lauterbrunnen, your guide will bring you to Lausanne, your home for the next two nights. Once you settle in, consider an evening stroll along Lake Geneva!Â

Day 7. Lausanne - Gruyères - Lausanne

When you've had your share of sweet and savory deliciousness, it'll be time to get back on the road. Drive through scenic landscapes until you reach Gstaad for lunch. From there, you'll travel back to the shores of Lake Geneva to visit the one and only Chillon Castle. Snap tons of photos, then return to Lausanne for a relaxing evening.Â
Day 8. Lausanne - Paris (Complete escorted tour)
This morning will be bittersweet as you say goodbye to Switzerland, but your French adventure is just beginning! After leaving Lausanne, you'll drive through the Jura Mountains into the rural landscapes of the France-Comte region. Your guide will stop in the charming town of Dole, known as "A City of Art and History." Along Dole's medieval streets, you'll find local cheese shops and interesting museums.Â
Back on the road, you'll be taken to Chablis, a picturesque walled town famous for the region's dry white wines. Upon entering Chablis, you'll be greeted by medieval timber-framed houses and quaint wineries. Treat yourself to a tasting and do some shopping in the area!
