This support boat is equipped with toilets and a shower (please bring a towel) and an area to eat your meals, leaving you stress-free to enjoy this tranquil and traditional experience on the Nile.

With this being said, you will not be permitted to join the group until proof of travel insurance has been verified by your tour leader. When selecting a travel insurance policy, please bear in mind that you must have medical coverage, and you must have a minimum coverage of $200,000 USD in case of repatriation and/or emergency rescue. While the policy offered to you by Great Value Vacations does meet the coverage requirement, please note that you are not required to have travel insurance from any particular provider.

Day 1. Welcome to Cairo!
Say hello to the trip of your life. Land in Egypt and head to your hotel for check-in. The day is yours to seize, then return at 6:00 to meet your travel group.
Check-in - Santana Hotel
Santana Hotel is just a 10 minute walk from Cairo's Orabi Metro Station. Guest rooms are equipped with air conditioning, television, and complimentary toiletries. WiFi is available for purchase. There is a spacious onsite restaurant where guests can enjoy meals. The hotel is located less than 2 miles from the downtown area, where guests can enjoy additional shopping and dining opportunities.
Day 2. Cairo - Aswan
Tour the Great Pyramid of Giza and the Sphinx, then take a tour of the Egyptian Museum. Tonight, you'll board an overnight train to Aswan!Â
A basic airline-style meal tray and breakfast the next morning is included. You can buy something to drink in your compartment, or head to the bar car to socialize. Â

Please Note: This is a modern, air-conditioned sleeper with twin-berth beds. The cabins in this train do not have a shower, but each cabin has its own sink. There is a shared toilet at the end of each carriage.Â
Day 3. Aswan
Take a look around Aswan before setting sail to a Nubian village for a home-cooked meal with a local family. Enjoy a lovely boat ride and an unforgettable traditional experience.Â

Day 4. Aswan
Enjoy a day of free time in Aswan! You might like to find a tour of sites in the area like the Temple of Abu Simbel. You can also check out the Unfinished Obelisk, High Dam, and Philae Temple.Â
Day 5. Aswan - Kom Ombo
Get ready to sail the Nile on a traditional felucca. Today will be spent peacefully gliding down this iconic river.Â
Feluccas are basic sailboats that provide a tranquil way to travel. Tonight, you'll sleep, open-air, on the deck of the boat. The felucca itself is not equipped with toilets or showers, but you will have access to a private support boat that travels in close proximity. The support boat has toilets, showers, and a place to eat your meals.Â
A Tip For Your Trip: Mattress and blankets are provided on the felucca, but if you prefer something between you and the blankets, you'll need to bring a sheet or sleeping bag liner of your own.
Day 6. Kom Ombo - Luxor
Enjoy a visit to Kom Ombo Temple. Located on the bank of the Nile, this temple was dedicated to the crocodile god. You can still see the remains of an ancient mummified crocodile that was worshipped millennia ago.Â
After, you'll jump into a van for a private transfer to Luxor. Along the way, you'll make a pit stop at Karnak Temple to see its columns and hieroglyphs. Once you reach Luxor, the rest of the day is yours to enjoy however you want.

Day 7. Luxor
If the Colossi of Memnon, Valley of Kings, and the Temple of Hatshepsut are on your bucket list, you'll be able to cross them all off today! Lunch will be eaten with a local family on the West Bank of the Nile.Â
Day 8. Luxor
Take in one final day in Luxor before moving on to your next exciting destination! Today, you have free time to plan out your final activities. Maybe you'd like to meander through the city's local bazaar to find the perfect souvenirs for your friends back home.
Day 9. Luxor - Hurghada
Grab a private transfer between Luxor and Hurghada. Once you arrive, you can take in the rest of the day at your leisure. The Red Sea's rich marine environment is a beautiful place to relax for a few days.Â

Rise and shine! It's time to catch your flight to Cairo!
After you land, you'll travel the rest of the way to Alexandria by private transfer. On the way, you'll stop to visit the monasteries of Wadi Al Natrun.Â

Day 12. Alexandria
Get ready for a full day of exploring! Dive into Alexandria's history with a guided tour of the Catacombs, the National Museum, Pompeys Pillat, and Qaitbay Fort.Â
Day 13. Alexandria - Cairo
Wake up and get ready for more excitement! You'll head for Cairo, making a stop along to way to see the El Alamein World War memorials and learn about the battles that changed the course of the war. After, you'll finish the journey back to Cairo.Â
