Be prepared to hike an average of 6 to 10 hours (approximately 12-15.5 miles) per day, with some shorter and longer days along the way. Aside from the train from Madrid and a short local bus ride on Day 4, transport on this trip is your own two feet!

Day 1. Welcome to Madrid!
Upon arrival, make your way to your hotel. Check in, freshen up, and begin to explore!Â
Check-in - Hotel Europa Madrid
Hotel Europa Madrid is located ideally in the heart of Puerta del Sol, right near the metro station. Top attractions in Madrid such as Plaza Mayor and the Prado Museum are under a mile away.
Guest rooms are equipped with free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, complimentary toiletries, television, and other amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. Room service is also available.
The delicious on-site restaurant serves Spanish cuisine and is open for breakfast, dinner, and afternoon tapas. The modern dining room features a terrace with views of the plaza, plus a bar with international cocktails.
Day 2. Madrid
Today, an orientation walk will help you become acquainted with Madrid! Spend the rest of the day at leisure as you discover this magnificent city! You may wish to visit the Palacio Real, Plaza del Dos de Mayo, Real Jardin Botánico, and additional attractions throughout the city!
Day 3. Madrid - Sarria
A train ride brings you to the town of Sarria. You'll have free time to explore independently upon arrival before rejoining your group!

Day 4. Sarria - PortomarÃn
The first day of your hike brings you from Sarria to PortomarÃn! You'll pass through a few small yet lovely towns along the way where you may wish to have a picnic!
A Tip For Your Trip: There will be a support vehicle available each day to carry your main luggage (only one piece permitted per traveler), but you will also need a day pack large enough to carry whatever you require for each day of hiking.

Pousada De Portomarin is the oldest hotel in the area, providing guests with a comfortable stay along the Camino de Santiago. Day 5. PortomarÃn - Palas de Rei
Today, you'll start your hike early en route to Palas de Rei. The scenery will be spectacular as you hike a stretch that is a mix of ups and downs!

Day 6. Palas de Rei - Melide
Today's hike brings you through the lush greenery of Galicia! You'll pass through more charming towns along the way, offering plenty of opportunities to pick up needed supplies or souvenirs!

Depart Melide and head for Arzúa! Stop along the way in the village of Ribadiso.

Today's walk will bring you through some beautiful scenery, with woods and streams taking center stage. You'll also pass through some quiet villages en route to Salceda.
