Bring your big-city dreams to the Big Apple! This city is home to 8.5 million people and welcomes over 67 million tourists each year! Manhattan is a nonstop hub of entertainment. You'll be in awe of the live music, street food, and endless musuems and landmarks. There is so much to do - start with the best ways to explore the culture!


1. St. Patrick’s Cathedral

Opened in 1879, this historic church is one of the oldest in Manhattan! The church still holds daily masses and confessions. The church is located on 5th Avenue, near other popular spots, like 30 Rockefeller Center and the American Girl Store.

2. The High Line

The High Line quickly transformed from a run-down railroad to a small park to a massive tourist attraction! Although this elevated park can get crowded, you’ll love this 1.5 mile-long stroll through the greenery. You’ll see all types of trees and flowers, as well as winding pathways with excellent views. The path ends at the Whitney Museum, a popular modern art museum.

3. Times Square

One of NYC’s most iconic attractions, this 42nd street location is a cacophony of sights, sounds, and smells. It’s where the ball drops on New Years Eve, and has been featured in countless TV shows and movies. You’ll find shopping, Broadway shows, street food, and bright billboards on every surface. Nearly every subway line stops in Times Square, making it easy for you to be whisked away to your next destination!

4. Statue of Liberty

Climb the pedestal of the famous Lady Liberty! You’ll find lots to do on Liberty Island. You can climb to the crown of Lady Liberty for an incredible view of the NYC skyline. Then visit the Statue of Liberty Museum to learn the important history behind the monument!

5. Occulus

This $4 billion dollar train station is much more than your ordinary subway stop. You can spend hours wandering this multi-level mega-mall! Snap a selfie in front of the iconic “wings” of the building. You can often find art exhibits and temporary events on the main level of Oculus. Then do some shopping in one of the many upscale stores!

6. 9/11 Memorial and the Freedom Tower

The monument honoring the victims and first responders of the September 11 terrorist attacks is a somber but essential piece of NYC. Located next to the Freedom Tower, where the Twin Towers once stood, is a lovely garden and water fixture to commemorate lives that were lost. Inside the Freedom Tower, you’ll learn more about the September 11 attacks and the inspiring construction of the Freedom Tower. You can also go to the top of the building to get an unbeatable view of the city!

7. The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Met on 5th Avenue is an art-lover’s dream! You’ll find art spanning 5,000 years, from every corner of the globe. Current exhibits include antique firearms from London, American jewelry, Indian paintings, and Chinese calligraphy. The musuem is so big that you could easily spend days seeing all the paintings, photos, sculptures and special exhibits!

8. Central Park

No NYC guide is complete without Central Park. This green space spans a huge portion of the Manhattan island, from 110th street to 59th street. Soak in the sun, watch a baseball game, and explore lush gardens. Walk around Jacquline Kennedy Reservoir, visit Bethesda Terrace, or visit the Shakespeare Garden!
