6 Ideas for a Memorable Night Out in Colombia

By Soren Rivero

Colombia is an absolutely marvelous area with tons of National Parks, beaches, extreme biodiversity, and all things cultural — but it's also home to a myriad of amazing nightlife attractions. Here are 6 ideas for a memorable night out in Colombia!

Pub Crawl in Bogota

The best way to get recommendations about the latest and greatest nightlife spots is through locals, and what better way to connect with locals than with a Pub Crawl?

You can get a taste of almost everything at the Bogota Pub Crawl! You can try some of the best eateries in town, which include both famous and hole-in-the-wall spots. They also offer tours for nightlife areas such as bars and clubs, which is a great way to get some information on the best places with the greatest music and strongest drinks. They even offer tours about the city’s history, too. Talk about an all-in-one hot spot for connecting and learning!

Visit Urbano Bar & Restaurant

Immediately upon entering, your eyes will be rewarded with the sight of hundreds of neon lights flashing all over the bar at Urbano. People will be dancing and having drinks, and you’ll even see some people enjoying the world-famous cuisine at this restaurant. If that isn’t enough to move you, this bar-restaurant hybrid occasionally hosts live music in which they invite bands or solo artists to come perform. This venue is located in the city of Cali, the capital of the Department of Valle del Cauca in Colombia.

Have A Cup of… Coffee?

Would you be surprised if we told you that drinking coffee at night is completely normal in Colombia? That’s because Colombia’s coffee drinking culture is a little bit different from the rest of the world. Colombian’s drink tinto — a pitch black coffee without milk that you can either drink with or without sugar. What’s great is that the servings are super small, so the chance of you getting extremely jittery from one is unlikely.

You’ll find dozens of coffee shops open late at night in Colombia, so feel free to browse!

Take a Beer Tour

Once you're done basking in the great outdoors or learning about Colombia’s history at one of the fine museums, you can replenish your energy (and quench your thirst) by taking a beer tour! If you’re eager to try them all, then Bogota Craft Beer tours have your back.

One of their very friendly hosts will take you and others guests on a private tour throughout some of Bogota’s best breweries. This is where you can taste many beers, hear about the breweries' history, and learn to brew your own cold one!

Attend a Dance Class at DanceFree

If walking through one of the many rainforests or National Parks wasn’t enough exercise for you, then you should definitely take a class at DanceFree.

They operate from early in the morning until late at night and offer tons of dance classes for individuals and couples. They even offer private lessons for those looking to really up their dance game. They teach a variety of styles including salsa, bachata, merengue, hip hop, and much more. Spots come and go fast, so be sure to book in advance!

Experience Alquímico

This bar is located inside of a mini-mansion type building with three floors and a rooftop. Every single floor has different drinks, music, rooms, and activities — the grand finale being the rooftop. Most of the cocktails have unique and memorable names, such as The Inquisitión and El Diablo. If you pay close attention, you might catch onto the specific theme of each floor!

During the recent COVID-19 pandemic, the bar owners even took initiative to start their own local farm supply that delivers fresh ingredients straight to the bar. All of this combined with the mind-blowingly amazing music makes this bar very deserving of its #47 spot on the world’s list of top 50 bars.
