Brazil
Home of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is the largest country in South America. Take a trip to see Christ the Redeemer and Corcovado, or sail down the Amazon River and into the rainforests. The culture is the real experience here, so if you can, plan your trip during the world-famous Carnaval celebrations - you’re in for a real treat!
Cape Town
South Africa is home to Table Mountain, which is regarded as one of the oldest mountains in the world! In addition to this natural wonder, explore the city’s various vineyards and wine tram, the multiple gardens, and the beautiful waterfront. Safaris are also available from Cape Town! Don’t forget - Africa's seasons are opposite than those of the US, so planning a trip to visit in August will land you in the dead of winter there.

Home to the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa, and some of the most luxurious shopping in the world.
Edinburgh
The world-famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the largest arts festival in the world held each August, is one of many reasons why this city makes the list. Edinburgh Castle, Old Town, and Georgian New Town are prime reasons to visit any time of year.

Gibraltar
The Top of the Rock (and the dozens of wild monkeys along the way) is worth the trip to Gibraltar. The rock rises almost 1400 feet out of the sea and can be seen for miles. The culture here is unique due to the territory’s varied history between Spain and Britain, though it is known today as a British Overseas Territory.

Japan’s capital is a unique blend of traditional and ultramodern. Meiji Shrine is set amidst gardens in the city center, and is just steps from the bustling Harajuku culture hub. The world’s busiest street crossing at Shibuya Station is also minutes away. Add to this the numerous other attractions, potential day trips, and the opportunity to see Mount Fuji, and it’s easy to see why Tokyo makes the list.

This South American country has a beach-lined coast, which boasts the famed Punta del Este, and much to offer in the way of history and dining. Head to the capital, Montevideo, for world-class steaks in the marketplace and a quaint, cafe-filled Old Town.
