Madrid has so many cultural activities, it can make your head spin. Luckily, the month of September offers a variety of events that will appeal to all. Here’s a list of 8 unique Madrid events to attend in September!
1. Olga Picasso Exhibit
Learn about the life of Olga Picasso, the first wife of famed artist Pablo Picasso, in this new exhibit at the Caxia Forum. Much of Olga’s life was documented by Picasso himself in his paintings, but the event offers up even more information on her life through letters, drawings and more. The event runs through September 22, and it's one that can't be missed!

2. Spain Dances Flamenco
The Ballet Flamenco de Madrid puts on a show that combines the rich tradition of flamenco with more contemporary movements, proving that Spanish dance can be more than just flamenco. 3. The Pink Floyd Exhibition

4. The Madrid Masters 2019
Ever heard of padel? If not, the time to discover this exhilarating paddle game is coming up on **September 3-8 **during the Madrid Masters 2019 Tournament. Padel is very similar to tennis but played in duos on a court that's about one-third the size of an average tennis court. Players are required to have even more agility and strength, making padel an exciting game to watch.
5. Apertura 2019
From September 12-15, 49 museums and exhibits are open for you to explore Madrid’s contemporary art scene. Visitors, curators, and artists alike travel to see this gallery weekend! This is the 10th year in a row Apertura has taken place. Its goal has remained the same: to place Madrid at the forefront of the artist community and showcase some fantastic artwork.
6. Weekend City Festival Madrid 2019
A new event on the Madrid music scene, the Weekend City Festival is a showcase for urban music both on an international and local scale. Explore new bands and listen to old favorites as you jam out to carefully chosen musical selections. Check out the festival September 20-21.

7. Vuelta a España
The Vuelta a España is one of the most anticipated cycling tours in the world. Bikers ride across the country in a 21-stage race. Citizens across Spain watch as the bikers pass through their towns and cities. The exciting race ends on September 15 as competitors navigate the streets of Madrid and (finally) cross the finish line.
8. Vogue’s Fashion Night Out
Vogue hosts the annual Fashion Night Out, an event where fashion lovers unite to celebrate the latest trends. From catwalks to special store discounts to mingling VIPS, this event places Madrid at the center of the action. Different local neighborhoods open up to visitors, ensuring guests are able to get a taste of the event.
